พรีเมียร์ลีก อังกฤษ ออกมาประกาศเปลี่ยนกฎการล้ำหน้าใหม่ หลังเกิดดราม่าขึ้นกับจังหวะปัญหาในเกมที่แมนฯซิตี้ เปิดบ้านทุบแอสตัน วิลล่า 2-0 เมื่อสัปดาห์ก่อน
โดยจังหวะปัญหาเกิดขึ้นในนาที 79 ของเกม เมื่อ โรดรี้ วิ่งมาแย่งบอล ไทโรน มิงส์ จากตำแหน่งล้ำหน้าก่อนส่งต่อให้ แบร์นาร์โด้ ซิลวา ซัดเสียบตาข่ายเข้าไปจนทีมเยือนต่างรุมประท้วง
ซึ่งกฎระบุไว้ว่า หากนักเตะทีม A ตัดสินใจเล่นบอลแล้ว นักเตะทีม B ที่วิ่งมาแย่งจากตำแหน่งล้ำหน้าจะถือว่าไม่ล้ำหน้า ทำให้กรณี มิงส์ ที่ตัดสินใจพักอกเอาบอลลงก่อนโดนโรดรี้ แย่งบอลไปจึงไม่ถือว่าเป็นลูกล้ำหน้า
ล่าสุดได้เปลี่ยนกฎข้อนี้ใหม่เป็น เมื่อนักเตะที่วิ่งมาแย่งบอลคู่แข่งจากตำแหน่งล้ำหน้าจะถูกตัดสินว่าเป็นลูกล้ำหน้าทันที
